Why Is U.S. Inflation Higher Than in Other Countries?
- paulpauper 5y agobecause more growth. when you look at real growth and dollar adjusted growth, the US comes out way ahead.
- Overtonwindow 5y ago“ the sizable fiscal support measures aimed at counteracting the economic collapse due to the COVID-19 pandemic could explain about 3 percentage points of the recent rise in inflation.” You’ll have to wade through a lot of fluff to basically get to the heart of the argument, which is that printing so much money to give everyone a stimulus check, directly led to inflation.
- danboarder 5y agoIndeed, I think this the central argument and conclusion. What o find interesting is the delayed effect. We had "more money" for a while until the dilution caught up and affected prices across the board.
