The entry-level workers earning six-figure salaries
- bspear 5y agoElephant in the room here is inflation. Entry-level (particularly white-collar) salaries have consistently gone up. These consulting firms are now competing with big tech and well-funded startups for talent, and falling short on equity. Esp for engineering, new grads will regularly make $150K+ in base plus equity: https://topstartups.io/startup-salary-equity-database/ https://topstartups.io/startup-salary-equity-database/
- nly 5y ago6 figures is nothing in London. House prices here have risen ~8%/year for 20 years. The problem of course is higher salaries just feed in to inflationary spiral. No matter how much you earn you always seem to end up spending 50% or your salary putting a roof over your head.
- Gunax 5y agoThis is how it should be. Every generation should be wealthier than their parents. I bet this is the same feeling that people in the 50s had.
- rdtwo 5y agoThat aren’t actually wealthier the money just buys less
- rdtwo 5y agoThe numbers are large but the value is small. Inflation has actually caused real wages to go down. When a house costs 1m+ a starting salary of 100k isn’t all that amazing
