The thing is, with AT&T's design, even if you can't reproduce it, doesn't mean it is not real.

- gruez 5y ago1. it's not necessarily that nobody successfully reproduced it, it's that nobody even tried and everybody's gobbling it up at face value. 2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russell's_teapot https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russell's_teapot seems relevant here
- shakezula 5y agoExactly this. There are people in that Reddit thread claiming that using a Mac will make companies charge you more too, with absolutely zero proof of any of these claims. People will go to endless lengths to justify their spending habits.
- temp8964 5y agoYes. The person produced the video should share his AT&T account or even his desktop account and open for remote, so that everyone can login to try it out.
- gruez 5y agoAgain, you're missing the point. The problem isn't with the OP, it's that everybody else didn't bother to reproduce it, and is uncritically believing it despite the lack of replication.
- swagasaurus-rex 5y agoHave you tried to reproduce it?
- gruez 5y agoI did. I went to the url in the post but got a login page. I'm not an at&t customer so that's basically the end of my attempts. That said, based on the upvote/comment count, and how big of a market share at&t has, there must be at least hundreds of users that can reproduce it.
- temp8964 5y agoNot really. AT&T pricing is localized. Maybe someone has to be in the same zip code to reproduce the result.
