I hiked the Long Trail in Vermont some years ago, and there’s a cafe/hostel in Rutland called the Yellow Deli run by 12 Tribes. The joke amongst hikers was that if you stayed there for more than 2 nights, you’d never leave. They left “trail magic” food advertising their establishment, which was pretty tasty, especially to someone with a strong case of hiker hunger. And they’d be very friendly with you while you are at the cafe. Their flyers were completely over the top. Made for some entertaining reading for a day.
