To me this looks a lot like Java but with optional types.
- discreteevent 15y agoWhy didn't they go a bit further and have type inference? They proved already with Go that you can have type inference in a language and still have a fairly light/dynamic feel.
- munificent 15y agoType inference is a tooling feature, not a language feature for Dart. The tools can do some type inference now, and more may be added later. At the very least, I personally really hope we get fully inferred local variables.
- pornel 15y agoThe language could require that inferred types are consistent. a = 1 a = "1"; // error
- equark 15y agoYou really need to make a list of these types of response on your webpage.
- munificent 15y agoGood idea. At some point, we'll probably harvest a bunch of this and put together a FAQ.
- rmjb 15y agoIt's actually very reminiscent of ActionScript-3.
