If an email is sent from me with explicit directions, there are only three actions allowed by managers.
1. Email me back to explain why what I said was incorrect. Sometimes, I’m just plain wrong!
2. Request further clarification if what I said was ambiguous.
3. Execute the directions.
If none of the above are done, that manager will be asked to resign immediately.
a) this email is for middle managers
b) this presumes an extremely competent leader
In all the companies I worked at, this will not fly, for obvious reasons.
- injb 4y agoI don't see the big deal with that^ email. I mean, the only alternative not listed there is "ignore me and do nothing". It should be obvious that that's not acceptable. The email is concise and well-written...I suppose if there's anything remarkable about it, it's that.
