Interesting critical review. This book is hard to criticize because it was JR’s labor of love, and he passed away recently, before it came out. I liked the pointed examples of JR’s uncritical praise, and this broad corrective: “Long though it is, Richardson’s Life was never intended to be definitive since many important archives are still closed. Nevertheless, it is an anthology of memorable gossip from the margins of Picasso’s life.”
