- simonblack 5y agoIraq and Afghanistan were mistakes "mistakes". An easy way of glossing over out and out aggression. In both cases, The US attacked those countries that were not an imminent threat. Iraq: the US did not allow the weapons inspectors sufficient time to investigate first. Thousands of US troops' lives were wasted for nothing. Afghanistan: The Taliban asked for evidence of bin Laden's guilt. The US refused, and attacked anyway. So again thousands of US troops' lives were wasted for nothing.
