- frumper 5y agoPG&E has two optional EV rate plans at 24c/kwh off-peak with hours and peak prices varying. https://www.pge.com/en_US/residential/rate-plans/rate-plan-options/electric-vehicle-base-plan/electric-vehicle-base-plan.page https://www.pge.com/en_US/residential/rate-plans/rate-plan-o...
- bradlys 5y agoRight but the point of the comparison is that you can get gas at any time for the same price. So you need to account for either the median price or the highest price when comparing to an EV. It will be dictated a lot on how you use your vehicle. If you have a very consistent drive to work/home schedule then EVs are great. If you start doing other things mixed in - it gets more nebulous unless you have a very high range one. The peak rates on there make me cringe. 60c/kwh. Insane.
