Outlook broken on Firefox for 6 months – MS recommend switch to Edge
- paulryanrogers 5y agoCannot read without logging in to Live?
- wanderer_ 5y agoWorks fine for me....
- maverick74 5y agoReally?! I'm amazed!!! It's really funny how Google services' - and now Microsoft's - just keep on failing on Firefox. Even more amazing is that they take soo many time to fix and never before another one takes it's place. Now... One could argue that's a result of a different rendering engine... But also funny is that it happens between chrome and edge also, sometimes... Go figure... And that's why I keep using Firefox...
- watermelon0 5y agoIt's probably not malicious. I don't quite know what their target audience is, but from my experience businesses (on desktop) primarily use Chromium based browsers, with a few percent of Safari users. From business perspective, it can be quite reasonable to treat Safari bugs as low-ish priority, and just not dedicate any time to ensure other browsers work correctly. Of course this changes if you also need to support mobile/tablet devices, where iOS/Safari is similarly popular (if not more, depending on the location of your users) to Android/Chromium. However, they should definitely update documentation, if they don't intent to keep FF support.
- MonaroVXR 5y agoI use 3 browsers, everything from Microsoft and G-mail in Chrome. Normal browsing in Firefox, which I use the most. Developing Edge. WebKit browser for testing, but I do use all the above for testing too.
- PhantomBKB 5y agoI use the outlook desktop app. It's decent
- nsonha 5y agowhy do you need an app for each email provider that's ridiculous. If I use an app it'll just be some native email client
- watermelon0 5y agoOutlook is a native email client, supporting any email provider.
- nsonha 5y agoright I've been so used to outlook as an email service that I forget MS Outlook existed long before that

- mr_toad 5y agoIt barely works on Edge. How an email program can fill the network console with pages and pages of network requests just to open the inbox I can’t fathom.
- durnygbur 5y agoFor months the top bar with "Home", "My Network" etc in LinkedIn had been blank white in Firefox. In Chrome worked fine. Regarding Outlook - many corporations literally lock their web apps to work only with Win10/11 + Edge for "security reasons" and Microsoft is happy to deliver it.
- aitchnyu 5y agoTeams calls don't work with Firefox or Chromium, only with Edge or Chrome or Chromium which spoofs Firefox.

- egberts1 5y agoNo thanks. Gonna switch to a different email provider. Oh wait, I don’t use MDN or its derivative thereof. (Whew)
