My spouse and I both had salmonella recently, it was not pleasant, we were both very ill, and it took a considerable amount of time to recover. The health department traced the source to a seafood supplier who provides fish for many restaurants in the area. Unfortunately, I got sick after eating at one of our favorite restaurants, so now my body associates that feeling of gross sickness to the food I had at this establishment. It's not at all their fault, but when I think about eating there now, I get a full-bodied signal to "stay away" and avoid that source of food. It'll probably be awhile before I'm ready to go back.
