I'm not sure whether you're being sarcastic, seeing who owns HN...
- kornhole 5y agoGood point!
- awb 5y agoHN was designed to be independent of YC interests. And Paul G doesn’t seem to care to be involved in the moderation of HN. The rules were established at it’s inception and enforced by others. Musk seems far more reactionary to hot button issues. I don’t see him as a set & forget leader.
- Heliosmaster 5y agoI'm not arguing against anything you said, but op said something about > with the richest [...] owning an influencing stake Regardless of how HN was designed, and what Paul G cares or does not, I don't think this can truly change
- HWR_14 5y agoDoes Paul G own an influencing stake or does HN have some kind of legal rights to avoid his influence?
- mdoms 5y ago> HN was designed to be independent of YC interests. lol come on
- awb 5y agohttps://news.ycombinator.com/newsfaq.html https://news.ycombinator.com/newsfaq.html > What's the relationship between YC and HN? > Y Combinator owns and funds HN. The HN team is editorially independent. > Are negative stories about YC suppressed on HN? > No, we moderate less, not more, when YC or a YC startup is the topic. The good will of the community is worth more than any story.
