Comparing Go vs. C in embedded applications
- Shadonototra 5y agoThe author doesn't know about TinyGo? https://tinygo.org/ https://tinygo.org/
- einpoklum 5y agoThey grossly mis-compared: They built their C program with static-linking of glibc, which is absolutely not intended for static linking. That's why when they built a "hello world" program, it took ~892 KB, while if they would compile it against, say, the musl C standard library, it would take 5.5 KB or so. If that's not enough, they compared speed, but seem not to have compiled with `-O3` enabled (or at least - it's not clear what flags they used).
