- trompetenaccoun 5y agoYou are going to leave a platform if a certain person is allowed the right to speak there? Have you tried Weibo or VKontakte? Those seem like the sort of sites you'd enjoy then.
- HereIGoAgain 5y agoSeriously.. That kind of attitude is insane!
- thinkingemote 5y agoPutin is on Twitter and yet many people have not left the platform. Logically what should you do?
- ShamelessC 5y agoWait what? He is?
- lentil_soup 5y agohe's not, the poster above is trolling
- ShamelessC 5y agoThanks, flagged it.
- thinkingemote 5y agoNot trolling, but as another comment corrected, the dictator's official Kremlin account is up on twitter.
- elldoubleyew 5y agoIt is funny to me that Putin has remained while Trump is still banned. Goes to show you what the twitter administration _truly_ cares about. I just wish they could be a little more consistent with things like this.
- sofixa 5y agoHas Putin actually broken Twitter's ToS like Trump did like a billion times?
- rsynnott 5y agoThere's a very dry official twitter called KremlinRussia_E, which posts his diary, pretty much. This is ~equiv to WhiteHouse, which Twitter obviously didn't nuke. They banned Trump's _personal_ account.
- elldoubleyew 5y agoThat account still spews misinformation, encourages continued invasions of Ukraine, and condones violence responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent civilians. These are in direct violation of Twitter ToS but they only enforce that when its politically convenient.
- rsynnott 5y agoFor better or for worse (personally I think it's for worse, but I am not King of Twitter), Twitter has (formally) adopted a policy of extremely high tolerance to the twitter accounts of public bodies and government officials. Note that Trump lasted until there were legitimate questions over whether he was using it to encourage the violent occupation of a government building, rather than being evicted years ago like anyone normal would have for the sort of things he said on a daily basis.
- elldoubleyew 5y agoBut is that worse than sending in the tanks? Clearly one of these hits a little too close to home and thats why action was taken.
