On a more personal level I can confidently say that the pandemic has caused many (although still a minority) to go insane - in the literal sense of disconnected from reality. This ranges from treating the pandemic as if it's still incredibly deadly to completely denying there was ever a problem. The consequences of that I'll be dealing with personally for a long, long time.
