For me because in these sort of bespoke Linux setups I've found that temp / mem usage needs to be watched for spikes a lot more than something like my Mac. I run a fairly large typescript monorepo, and when I'm also running a zoom screenshare it's something I need to be aware of. I'm running an arch setup, and because it's fairly barebones I needed to learn about temp / power control regulators like TLP.
