How do you feature flag a refactor?

  You copy your service into refactored_service and feature-flag which of the two microservices the rest of the system uses /s

  Right. Hence why I said: > That is honestly near impossible. Point is, staging environment is there to increase the confidence that what you are deploying won't fail. Removing that is doable, but I wouldn't recommend it.

  A refactor is not a feature. Same way a bugfix isn't.
