Just, wow. Thanks, so, so much for the care you've put in that answer! The thing I get from this is what I slowly start to realize. What I think I want is misaligned with what I need ; and so maybe I should focus more on the latter rather than the former. Re: the boss quitting on the day you joined, this sounds so familiar! I had so many issues with my boss when I switched that I made it my priority to find someone I resonated with. I asked for another interview with my new boss when I joined my current company, we got along really well on a lot of levels. 2 months in, reorg, new boss, no connection. I still am in contact with the hiring manager who hired me, he feels sorry for me, but nothing to be done.
