Why would I purchase something that is actively hostile to my interests so much that I don't want it to connect to the internet? Doesn't sound like anything I'd want in my house. It seems to me that if you stop paying companies working against your interest money, or only pay them money for products that aren't against your interest, you're probably going to do a lot better in the long run in terms of protecting your interest from unethical corporate raiders.
