Help Children Learn History
- eimrine 5y agoIMO, History is the borest discipline ever. If you have a child, or if you play significant role in developing someone's else child - please, consider helping them to learn anything else. Something from STEM is a great start, what about History they will be somewhat forced to learn it anyway.
- EvanAnderson 5y agoLearning about history, as a narrative about the motivations of leaders and peoples and how they incorporated technology, culture, and coping with the environment into their lives is both immensely informative. The topics of math and science alone have rich histories that help to inform why we've ended up where we are today. For me, at least, having a grasp of the history of a thing (a place, an idea, a people, etc) helps me reason about it. Ignoring history seems like a great way to fall into the classi "Why don't you just...?" trap.
- paidefsou 5y agoThat is a great way to put it!
- paidefsou 5y agoI guess that it can be boring and that is especially relevant to the way that it is served through schooling. The thing is that it's still important, so if there is a way to make it more fun i 'm interested. And i'm not comparing here with other disciplines, i'm into stem too.
