Show HN: Datetime.tools – convenient date and time conversions
- alophawen 5y agoUm, how do you convert anything with this tool? All I can see is different forms of presentation of the entered time. My main use of such app is conversion between timezones. Luckily all desktop OS I use have this built in already. One feature I often use is this: https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html?iso=20220401T120000&p1=179&p2=239 https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html?iso=20... Convert a past time in one timezone into another. My usecase is maybe odd but in an online game i play (EVERQUEST), I get info like "Boss was killed 9 PM eastern on sunday" and I'm in Sweden and know boss respawns 5 days after kill, so I need to calculate when that is in my local timezone.
- uiii 5y agoMaybe the word conversion is not the right one or we see different meaning under it. I mean conversion between date/time formats. I built this tool because I need to quickly get unix timestamp form of a date/time and other existing tools are very cumbersome to use (I have to enter the time by typing etc.). I may add the conversion between timezones as a new tool, I will consider that.
