My brother killed himself when he was 25, and I was 23. I've never really known how to talk about it/him with people. I sometimes wonder what he would be like now if he hadn't done it, but mostly I don't think about him - unless I'm talking with my mum.
I don't think I'll ever really get over it. But yeah, it's not really something to talk about. Life can be hard, and sadly there is suffering and tragedy in every family.
- hutzlibu 5y ago"But yeah, it's not really something to talk about." I think it is. But it has to be the right person and the right time. Some are fine opening up to the whole internet, I certainly would not (and did not).
- ISL 5y agoAgreed -- talking about things really can help. Sometimes you'll unexpectedly discover that talking about things isn't just helpful for you, but also for the person on the other side of the conversation; at some point, everyone's working through something.
