Naive question: If the insurance providers are the payers, why aren't they incentivized to collectively negotiate down the cost of drugs?
- throwawayboise 5y agoHealth insurance company profits are capped as a percentage of claims paid. Higher costs for drugs and services means more profit for the insurance companies.
