So they’ll say it’s impossible and keep doing whatever more immediate practical concern they’re working on. I don’t think it needs to be analyzed further than that; you’re trying to see reason where there isn’t any. Most people holding the views you’re talking about are at are at best just confused about the subject being discussed, but more likely just wrong.
