Is it really worth knowing if you use numpy or R style array ops in a daily basis? I spent a bunch of time with J. I think it’s really worth knowing the semantic layer — that you might write code like you write sentences is quite brilliant — but unless an array is the only abstraction you need, you might find it orders of magnitude harder writing code well fitted to other abstractions
