Define "a large part." Are we talking linear numbers? The US has a population of 350 million people, 3.5 million is still only 1%. Would you say that the percentage of French ethno nationalists is above 1% of the population? What about percentages? I challenge you to find anything showing a double digit percentage of Americans that would like segregation.
You have a very uninformed and derogatory view of a certain segment of the US population, and your view of southerners in particular is very stereotypical and not rooted in fact.

- betwixthewires 5y agoSo then what makes you think that the US has some penchant for racism that is lacking in enlightened Europe? European society seems largely free of it even with them, might that be the case in the US also?
- prmoustache 5y agoI never said Europe was more enlightened or superior. I merely said USA is still using the concept of race and it is mostly cultural due to its history. Which means racism/discrimination issues are treated under a vastly different pane of glass. And yes it is fucked up but racism/xenophobia is a global problem. I never said europe fared better but it seems like mentionning US as a european triggered something that make US people think their country is under attack and they should just enter into negationism mode. Calm down, it is not a US vs Europe thing. More an ackniwledgement that different cultures react differently based on their history.
- betwixthewires 5y agoI'm not responding defensively in support of the US, I'm only engaging in a genuine discussion of your criticisms.
