AGI sounds terrible. There's a reason it's mostly (only?) portrayed in distopias. I feel sorry for whoever thinks it's a good idea. Humanity is screwing itself

AGI sounds terrible. There's a reason it's mostly (only?) portrayed in distopias. I feel sorry for whoever thinks it's a good idea. Humanity is screwing itself just fine without AGI though. We're already well down the road of automating most human activities, seldom for the better, most times for the worse. Soon enough we'll be left only doing white collar busywork like in that movie where the guy falls in love with his phone.
