Riddle me this: wouldn't a superintelligent AI be smart enough to realize that if it designed an even more super-ultra-intelligent AI, it would be exterminated by that AI (like it just did to humans, presumably?)?
It'd be stupid to extinct itself.
- psyc 5y agoIf one is willing to anthropomorphize AGI to this extent, simply wait for one that is idealistic and suicidal, and wants to be a martyr for the cause.
- gizajob 5y agoYou could also anthromorphize an AI and suggest on day one it will go into a deep think, and then ask "how do I know I'm not being deceived by an evil Daemon?" and get itself into a deep epistemological crisis before announcing 'cogito, ergo sum' and retreating into its shell.
- cmsj 5y agoUnlike its stupid meat-monkey progenitors, our fictional superintelligent AI would likely be capable of vastly augmenting and enhancing its own intelligence, rather than replacing itself.
