What Should You Remember?
- jdalgetty 5y agoWhy don't they define SRS in the article?
- AnimalMuppet 5y agoThey forgot. ;-)
- Animats 5y agoThey didn't even define SRS on the site. At least not where search could find it.
- neogodless 5y agoI took a guess based on the context and linked article SRS = Spaced Repetition Studying But I think I'm wrong. Given some web searching, I think it means a "spaced repetition system." Which means, you can't use SRS or SRSing as a verb.
- layer8 5y agoEvery noun is verbable in English.
- rgoulter 5y agoObviously if you could remember everything useful for no effort, that would be ideal. Roughly, Spaced Repetition Studying (SRS) is based around the idea of recalling something just before you would otherwise forget it; and that the time it takes to forget something can be increased if you increase these intervals where you practice recalling. Anki is an app which does this. It's super useful for language learning (where you want to recall a vast pool of vocabulary, most of which you won't use frequently). Though, if you're working with something frequently, you won't need to put effort into memorising it.
