"A developer’s dream is a devops engineer’s nightmare"
Well, the opposite is very much true as well.
A devops engineer's dream is usually a developers nightmare.
- shykes 5y agoThat is sadly often true today, but not inevitable! When you are overwhelmed with complexity, a natural defense mechanism is to restrict choice. But with better tooling, you can better manage and reduce complexity, which allows you to say "yes" to developers without compromising on reliability and security. That is what we are trying to enable with Dagger.
- goodpoint 5y agoSo much for "devops" merging together development and operations. "A developer’s dream is a devops engineer’s nightmare" underines the failure of devops.
- wseqyrku 5y agoI think the opposite cannot be true, because developers come physically before operations. Isn't it actually devops engineers' job to make it so?
