Investing has been 24/7 for a long time for professional investors who traded markets globally - New York, Hong Kong, London, etc. And crypto investors have been doing it with BTC and the rest for a long time too. And futures markets too are popular with institutions.
Extended hours have been creeping earlier and later around the core market hours of 9:30am to 4pm but volumes are typically very low and price discovery remains suspect. Most serious investors look to trade around 10 or 10:30 and then again in the afternoon when liquidity is best and price discovery is more reliable.
More trading is actually bad for most people who should be "investing" and not trying to make a quick buck with call options. I wish Robin Hood would start helping people mature into lifelong investors instead.
