I don’t call a GPS tracker installed in a car without the owner’s knowledge or permission, and where it’s still unknown if it is now or ever has been or could later be activated (again perhaps without the owner’s knowledge) to send the car’s location to a third party “entirely benign”. I call that extremely worrying! I’d want to remove any such device from my car immediately.
