If I make a claim or state an opinion outside of my normal expertise, I try to back it up with supporting links. Perhaps to similar cases or situations or scholarly articles. I tend to remain fairly skeptical of claims by users whose names I don't recognise, if they don't provide them. None of the linked comments did so.
