Honestly? I define it as a sci-fi fantasy concept that's not worth taking seriously.

- m0llusk 5y agoSingularities are illusions that occur when models break down. As an apparent singularity approaches either there will be a new model that reveals previously unknown information or there will be a crash.
- sgt101 5y agoYet it's interesting that the presence of singularities does not lead communities to abandon those theories.

- kleer001 5y agoIMHO we already have both, but their growth is a sigmoid curve, not an exponential spike to infinity.
