1) Doesn't an LED have only a single band gap, determined by its main materials, thus no "side bands"?
2) Even if other wavelengths are produced, they just need to be produced in lesser quantities than in say sunlight.
3) #2 will require regulation and enforcement, but so do numerous other consumer devices - did you worry about your CFL leaking mercury?
- supernova87a 5y ago1. Not if it relies on phosphors or dopants to achieve the desired emission profile. 2. I don't think that the standard for a safe environment at home or at work is that you are exposed to the wavelengths and intensities equal to direct sunlight?
