Joe vs. Elan School

That was a rollercoaster ride. Tragically I recognized a few things in it from a recent story about a place in Tennessee that was arresting young black girls (age 8 and 9) and one single judge was responsible for hundreds of kids locked up. https://www.propublica.org/article/black-children-were-jailed-for-a-crime-that-doesnt-exist https://www.propublica.org/article/black-children-were-jaile...

Wow, this is insanity. And just a really well done comic.

I'm surprised I hadn't heard about this before, although looking into it, it seems pretty infamous, and reminds me of many Scientologist documentaries. I got some second-hand PTSD from the comic that I wasn't looking for today, but I found the comic really well done. This was 100% a cult, and I'm sad to see that it had operated for that long. I wonder what happened to many of its residents; that is a crazy amount of trauma they had to deal with as kids that would definitely have long-lasting consequences -- I wouldn't last half a day there as an adult.
