This misses the fact that the increased bandwidth allows for improved applications that couldn’t have existed without it. Without broadband, we’d have fewer applications that could use it. With widespread 5G, we now have the infrastructure (or soon will) for a slew of applications that we haven’t thought of yet but couldn’t have existed without the additional speed.
