Is it one of those horrible Mighty Mouses? The scroll ball on those is truly dire. Try turning it upside down and rolling it round really hard on the scroll ball and it should free it up for a few weeks. (After I got fed up of doing that, I went out and got a track ball!)
- gstar 18y agoYep, I found that turning it upside down and rolling it around on a clean, coarse piece of paper works well too.

- mrtron 18y agoThe mouse works amazing for 2 weeks or so, then the scroll dies and becomes harder and harder to fix. I have had the most success with logitech mice over the years.
- stcredzero 18y agoI have Logitech VX. It's the best mouse I've ever owned. But the free-spinning scroll wheel no longer spins freely now. Instead it's just the smoothest, nicest scroll wheel I've ever used. (I have scrolling speed cranked up to max, so I can still scroll a whole document easily, and not having any detents makes it easy to do a fine scroll anyways.)
