Use gold instead of copper?
- jbay808 5y agoSilver, you mean? That's an option, but now we're getting pretty exotic...
- nine_k 5y agoSilver may even be okay from the cost perspective, but it's much harder to chemically etch.

- raverbashing 5y agoThe PCBs are pre-covered with copper and the etching is done with a copper-corrosive material Not sure if it exists a similar process for gold
- denton-scratch 5y agoPresumably you can etch gold using aqua regia. Not sure what you might use for the resist, though.
- qwezxcrty 5y agoGold can be readily etched with some iodine chemistry. But in this application, it's going to be hard to justify the higher cost.
