Overextending and Unbalancing Russia (2019)
- firebaze 5y agoUncomfortable to read. But you should. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAND_Corporation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAND_Corporation
- rmind 5y agoThe article is well overdue, given that it was written in 2019. The strong and overwhelming sanctions on Russia should have been adopted in 2014 when Russia started the over War in Donbas. A strong Western response then could have prevented the war of 2022, instead of pursuing the "let's be nice and try to talk this through with Kremlin" diplomacy which the Eastern European countries long knew is hopeless.
- tuatoru 5y agoDoesn't have the smell of raw intellectual firepower that RAND's best work does, but it doesn't need to. It would be very interesting to see the equivalent document for China.
