I own my flat and charges are low (30€/mo) + very low electricity consumption <10€/mo, cheap insurance (7€/mo), cheap internet 4.9€/mo (mobile plan and tethering) the only food I buy is a big rice pack (30€/20kg) that last 6 months to a year, and sometimes I buy fruits at a grocery (low price because that's the one they are ready to get rid of), so about 5-10€ a few times per month, free at market, free in the trees. That's all for the expenses, sometimes I buy soap or a bicycle tube. Sometimes, for a week or even a month I don't use my credit card (free online bank as well). But you're right, I'm definitely an outlier here where life is almost as expensive as in Paris
