[ASK HN] how to filter out MSM media from YouTube feed?
How can I filter out all MSM media from YouTube video feed? Is there an app or an extension?
- KarlTheCool 5y agoAs part of your recommendations blob? You can click the vertical ... on a video and click "Don't recommend channel" The "Breaking News" sections that show up sometimes you could probably zap with uBlock Origin.

- frankzander 5y agoSee it the other way around ... it's for the peace of mind not to get the every day world wide chaos pumped in your brain even on Youtube when you just want to be distracted by some nice dog or cat content.
- brobinson 5y agoThere are non-"mainstream" sources which are highly factual and not editorialized. See AP and Reuters. Sadly, their reports are commonly resummarized in a biased/slanted way and used by the MSM. When you see a "Reuters reports that" or "According to a report by the AP", skip the MSM and go directly to the sources.
- stonogo 5y agoThis is kind of a bizarre summary; I'd consider AP and Reuters to be the mainest possible stream of media.
- brobinson 5y agoHow so? This is what people are talking about when they say "MSM", the deranged stuff you find on Fox News and CNN and so on.
