one of the things the left is good at is being willing to admit to ideology. it is okay to have reasons, intentions, and motivations. pretending one does not, pretending ideological choices are innate and universal, and pretending one can avoid specificity when speaking are failures.

- zozbot234 5y agoExcept that the left does not admit to ideology all that much. The more ideological leftists all like to think that they're "based and redpilled" and telling it like it is, even though nothing could be farther from the truth. By contrast, people on the "right" tend to be more aware that their latest "redpill" is just another meme and it's all for the lulz anyway.
- germinalphrase 5y agoThe left may present itself more seriously, but why shouldn’t the humor be considered a mere veil for the underlying belief? It’s one thing to meme about the vulnerability of the impoverished, and another to state clearly that one holds the ideological position that they deserve their poverty.
