I think an important point of distinction is that you aren't just photographing for keeping a record or memory of the place, but you're photographing more artistically - you're going the extra mile to take good, planned photos with proper camera gear - making you much more like the "professional" photographer of the Baha"i Gardens than the photo the author shot. I think that's an important point the author missed - photography-tending folks are likely going to want to take good photos of particular angles that you're unlikely to find online (especially if it's not a common tourist spot).
