European magpies have been documented to hold wakes for fallen flock members. It's not impossible crows have similar bit undocumented ceremonies. They definitely have a rudimentary culture.
- drcongo 5y agoMagpies are usually bastards, however, about a year ago a cat got run over in the street near my house and the only reason anyone knew to go to its aid was because a group of magpies stood around it in a circle shouting until someone came. Obviously I could be anthropomorphising this in the nicest possible way, the alternative is that they were taunting it Nelson Muntz style.
