Ask HN: Why did Google kill Google Now Snapshot(Cards)?

I used to love the cards in google now but after burying it, google has finally decided to retire it completely. WHY? I came up with three guesses but none of them make any real sense: - Traffic was dropping from their apps. - Encourage more voice engagement - Hide how much google actually knows about you This was truly the only user-centric product I have ever used.
