Federal student loans already have income-based repayment options, along with forbearances and public-service loan forgiveness options.
I don't see how this proposal is a better deal.
- ummonk 5y agoIt’s basically a proposal to do the same thing for private loans. Unlike the federal government, the originator of a private loan will care about repayment rates, thus somewhat aligning incentives.
