Starlink hikes prices to $599 up-front and $110 per month, blames inflation
- sschueller 5y agoDid they raise everyone's wage to compensate for this inflation as well? I highly doubt it.
- google234123 5y agoThe stock probably went up more than inflation.

- Maursault 5y agoEven if I can't afford this, it still sounds pretty reasonable to me for satellite Internet. What do competitors charge for similar service?
- everforward 5y agoCNET has some data [1]. It seems to be in roughly the middle of the price range. It does offer better bandwidth and no data caps, but I don't have one so I can't say whether those bandwidth numbers are achievable or not. 1. https://www.cnet.com/home/internet/best-satellite-internet/ https://www.cnet.com/home/internet/best-satellite-internet/
- bcrl 5y agoIt's a pity they don't fulfill orders for more than 2+ years. I have 5 different sites that have been in the queue since early 2020 with not a peep other than the price increase email earlier this week. Meanwhile I know of other people in the area that signed up after me who received their units last summer. Not exactly encouraging.
- dingosity 5y agofwiw. i paid for mine (whole thing, not just the deposit) and never received anything. there is no way to contact tech support. through a friend of a friend who worked there, i got ahold of someone in the fulfillment team. my order had been canceled, no refund, no explanation. i was about to hit the "credit reversal" button on my bank's website when i got an email from them... they added my order to the end of the queue. expect my terminal in 2023. after another week of emails and phone calls i was able to get a refund for the whole price minus the deposit, which is non-refundable.
- dingosity 5y agoso... from my perspective... starlink is a company that turns $100 deposits into empty promises.
- dingosity 5y agoi don't think this matters. it's not like starlink is delivering terminals to anyone outside ukraine.
