"Grace?"
After 13 microarchitectures given the last names of historical figures, it's really weird to use someone's first name. Interesting that Anandtech and Wikipedia are both calling it Hopper. What on Earth are the marketing bros thinking?
- fay59 5y agoThey also made the “Hopper” architecture to complement it.
- thereddaikon 5y agoThe GPU is Hopper, which is in line with their naming scheme up till now. The CPU is call Grace. Clearly they are planning to continue the tradition of naming their architectures after famous scientists and the CPUs will take on the first name while the GPU will continue to use last. So expect a future Einstein GPU to come with a matching Albert CPU.
