Chevron, having unlimited resources to put into the suit, lost in Ecuador- but has not paid their fine, instead attempting to make an example of the lawyer representing the Ecuadorians by burying him in frivolous lawsuits, trying to get him disbarred, placing him in prison for refusing to violate attorney-client privilege. They appointed a private law firm- one that used to represent Chevron- to represent the government in the case.
